If you have the courage, show it by imposing Governor's rule, challenges Chief Minister Sohail Afridi
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that the province is already ruled by the founder PTI, so there is no need for any other rule. If you have the courage, then impose Governor's rule and show that we are not afraid of anyone.
He expressed these views while talking to the media in Hayatabad. Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, while addressing the ceremony, said that the feeling and vision of Imran Khan for the weak and special classes is our path and priority. The captain ordered that the funds in the Zakat Fund should be immediately distributed to the deserving, while the provision of assistive devices should also be ensured to the disabled people of the merged districts.
The Chief Minister said that the provincial government is taking all these steps with its own resources, while the federation owes more than 3000 billion rupees to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Just think what we can do if the federation pays our arrears.
He further said that the federal government has committed corruption worth Rs 5300 billion, but no one is going to ask. He expressed regret that “we are delivering, providing relief to the people, yet fingers are pointed at us.”
The Chief Minister announced to provide transport facilities to schools in merged districts and directed to immediately provide all missing facilities in schools for special children.
Earlier, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi launched the “Ehsaas Omid Program” for severely disabled people from across the province, under which 10,000 special people will be provided Rs 5,000 per month each.
The program will cost Rs 300 million from January to June 2026 in the current fiscal year. The Chief Minister also formally handed over to the Director Social Welfare 23 vehicles purchased to provide free transport facility to the students of 54 special educational institutions running under the administrative control of the Social Welfare Department, these vehicles have been purchased at a total cost of about Rs 37.7 crore.
According to the announcement, a ceremony was held at the Special Education Complex Hayatabad on Monday to formally launch and inaugurate the aforementioned welfare initiatives. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was the chief guest of the ceremony. While apprised the participants of the ceremony about the details of the provincial government’s Ehsaas Omid program, it was informed that under the program, first priority will be given to people with severe disabilities. The financial assistance amounts will be transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries through biometric verification.
It was informed in the briefing that the beneficiaries will be selected under the Zakat Management Information System. Similarly, while giving a briefing on the program to provide free transport facility to students of special educational institutions, it was informed that 23 vehicles purchased for schools for special children include 12 minibuses and 11 high-speed buses.
It was further informed that 2000 electric wheelchairs have been distributed among specific persons working in government departments and students studying in government universities and colleges. In addition, 2500 manual wheelchairs, 800 tricycles, 3600 sewing machines, 617 hearing aids, 102 white canes, 44 crutches and 96 walkers have been provided to specific persons from across the province, on which a total of Rs. 760 million was spent.
