Pakistan Hockey Team to Play World Cup Qualifying Round Matches in Egypt

The International Hockey Federation has handed over the hosting rights of the qualifying round to Egypt. The second qualifying round will be held in Chile. The FIH is expected to announce the schedule of the World Cup Qualifying Rounds soon.

According to sources, the qualifying rounds can be played from February 28 to March 7 as per the proposed schedule, however, confirmation of the schedule is awaited from the host countries.

According to sources, the Pakistan Hockey Team will play its matches in Egypt. The conditions in Egypt may be favorable for the national team.

Before the World Cup Qualifying Round, the Pakistan Hockey Team will participate in the World Cup Qualifying Round with the experience of playing eight Pro League matches against Argentina, Netherlands, Australia and Germany.

Sixteen teams will participate in the two World Cup Qualifying Rounds organized by the FIH, out of which seven teams will have a chance to make it to the World Cup.

The Hockey World Cup will be played in the Netherlands and Belgium from August 15th next year.
