Google Translate now makes it easier to translate idioms

Google has added advanced technology like generative AI (Gemini) to its translation system, which tries to understand and translate idioms, slang, and cultural references not word for word, but according to meaning and context.

That is, if a phrase is an idiom, the system now tries to better preserve its meaning, rather than simply translating individual words.

Although errors can still occur because machine translations are not always as accurate as human translators, especially when the idioms are very specific or unconventional. However, new AI capabilities are improving this.
