British police announce arrest of those who shout ‘Intifada’ slogans in favor of Palestine

British police have warned that people who publicly shout ‘Global Intifada’ slogans in favor of Palestine will be arrested.

According to foreign media reports, British police warned that the perception has changed after the Bondi Beach attack in Australia and people who shout ‘Global Intifada’ slogans in favor of Palestine will be arrested.

Britain’s Metropolitan Police and Greater Manchester Police said in a joint statement that we know that citizens are concerned about the placards and slogans of the Global Intifada and insisted on being stricter.

The statement said that violent incidents have occurred and the perception has changed, words have meaning and consequences, we will take decisive action and make arrests.

The report said that in response to the announcement by the London and Manchester police forces, some campaigners have called the move political.

On the other hand, extremist Jewish groups welcomed the announcement by the British police, and Jewish leader in the UK, Rabbi Ephraim Mervis, called the announcement an important step against hate speech.

In a statement, Ben Jamal, the leader of the Palestinian pro-democracy campaign, said that the police's decision was a violation of the right to protest.

He said that the statement by the Metropolitan and Greater Manchester Police is another shameless attempt to politically suppress the protest for Palestinian rights.

Ben Jamal criticized that there was no consultation in this regard and that the Arabic word intifada means rebellion or struggle against injustice.
