IPL: Australian all-rounder becomes third most expensive player in history
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has become the most expensive overseas player sold in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 26-year-old Australian all-rounder was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for 252 million Indian rupees (776.8 million Pakistani rupees) in the auction for the 2026 season on Tuesday.
After this record sale, Cameron Green has become the third most expensive player bought in the history of IPL. The first place in this list is occupied by Rishabh Pant (270 million Indian rupees) and the second is Shreyas Iyer (267.5 million).
It should be noted that Cameron Green has previously played for Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. While he did not participate in the season in 2025 due to back problems.
